Best cafes to work from in Canggu, Bali

Best cafes to work from in Canggu, Bali

Canggu is THE hotspot when it comes to being a digital nomad/remote worker/whatever you call yourself in Bali. It seems like the possibility to choose a coworking space or amazing cafe to work from grows by the minute which makes it hard to keep track of all of them. After being here for almost 7 months in total (how the hell is time passing so quickly!!!), I put together this awesome list of the best cafes to work from in Canggu that includes the most important info to make your workday as productive as possible. If you’re looking to explore Bali and want to know about the places on the whole island, check out this post:)

All of these places have very comfortable seats (because I know how important that is) and the WiFi is good enough for everyday tasks (if you have to upload 20GB, a co-working space might be the better fit for you, however). I also made sure to include an account for AC, power plugs, and the atmosphere in each place.

Batu Bolong

Koast Café

Koast Cafe feels like a super comfortable open-air living room that has all the beach vibes you could ask for. The coffee and food are amazing, Wi-Fi is super stable and fast and you can use their amazing pool for free (you even get a free towel). Although Koast is pretty new, it has grown to be one of my favorite cafes in Canggu to work in.

AC: No

Power plugs: At almost every seat

Atmosphere: lively but quiet, super comfortable seating

Ninety One

This is the view you get to enjoy if you come work from Ninety One in Canggu

Ninety-One is one of the nicest cafes that you could work from in Canggu. There is a coworking space upstairs but I much prefer to stay downstairs and just work by the pool. The whole style is super modern and looks like it’s out of a design magazine but there are plenty of seats in the shade that also have plugs. I like to have work sessions of 45 minutes and then go for a 15-minute swim here. Although there’s no AC here, the pool completely makes up for it and will probably also be one of your favorite cafes to work from in Canggu.

Secret tip: My absolute favorite Warung, Warung Varuna, is literally next door to Ninety One which is just another reason why it’s Ninety One is one of my favorite Cafes in Canggu.

AC: No

Power plugs: Some, could be more

Atmosphere: usually very quiet

Lila Kozina

Apart from being perfect to get some work done, they also have freaking amazing food at La Kozina in Canggu, Bali

Lila Kozina is a super pretty and modern Moroccan café. Although the place itself is not too big, it’s super comfortable and the staff is always on point. The coffee and food are great, and you’ll find yourself able to watch everyday life happening because of the amazing glass wall right in front of you. They’re also literally always playing THE most amazing music playlist to make sure you stay productive.

AC: yes

Power plugs: At almost every seat

Atmosphere: perfect to get work done while listening to chill music

Warung Lumbung

Some of the best views you find in Canggu

Warung Lumbung is a bit different than the other cafes but is by far the most peaceful place you might ever work in. It’s an outdoor café/restaurant that overlooks some of the most beautiful rice fields in Canggu but for reasons (that are completely unknown to me) it’s always super quiet here. They have 4 separate little huts (I’m talking Eat,Pray,Love huts where Julia Roberts would meditate in :D) that are all fitted with your own power plugs. The owner is sooo friendly and makes sure to stop by and say hi whenever you’re there too and coffee is amazing too. On top of that, there’s an amazing breeze to make sure you won’t get too hot. I mean, I really can’t sell this any more than this. Just go here already.

AC: no, but some of the best free breeze you can find in Bali

Power plugs: At every seat in the huts

Atmosphere: most freaking peaceful and amazing

Zin Café

This is the view in the upstairs area at Zin Cafe in Canggu, Bali

Zin Café has to be on every list in this world when it comes to a café to get work done in. There are two floors so you can definitely find a spot that serves your needs. They also added a separate bamboo hut area just for people to get their work done which I freaking love. Food and coffee are great here and you’ll usually find enough power plugs here. It does get busy here though, so coming early (not too early though since it’s still Bali :D) is recommended. Definitely one of my all-time favorite cafes in Canggu.

AC: no, but a pretty good breeze

Power plugs: Depends on where you’re sitting. Definitely enough in the work area

Atmosphere: very quiet in the work area, the rest of the café can be a bit louder(but still ok to work)

Essentials Cafe

Another favorite of mine, Essentials Cafe, is in a quiet road in the middle of Batu Bolong (right next to Mocca cafe, another good one if you don’t mind sweating your balls off :D), but you will find super chill vibes here. The music in the background is always perfect, the plants everywhere make you feel like you’re sitting in the middle of a garden and the staff is incredibly friendly. They have a small area that has AC as well but also plenty of fans to stay cool outside. The best part about this place: they are one of the few cafes in Canggu that actually serve you a free bottle of water to drink (most of the others charge for it). As if that’s not enough, they also include three different essential oils to try out in your water which I just freaking love.

AC: in a smaller room, yes

Power plugs: Not that many but it’s usually pretty quiet here so it’s ok

Atmosphere: usually quiet, perfect to get a lot done

Mocca Cafe

Right next to Essentials, you have Mocca Cafe. This used to be one of my favorites just because everything is so green and pretty here. The WiFi and coffee are really good but power plugs are a bit scarce. If you come in there morning though, it’s the perfect spot to be productive and enjoy all the decorations.

AC: nope, and it also gets pretty hot here

Power plugs: Not that many but you’ll be ok in the morning

Atmosphere: usually quiet

Superfood Canggu

The main area at Superfood Cafe in Canggu, Bali

Superfood Canggu is pretty new but also another very pretty café to work from in Canggu. The food is super healthy but very affordable and the coffee is great too. There are plenty of fans to keep you chill but if that’s not good enough for you, there’s also an indoor area with AC. There’s more than enough power plugs and the décor with all the plants will make you feel like you’re almost hanging out in a little jungle which I freaking love.

AC: in a smaller room, yes

Power plugs: More than enough

Atmosphere: can get a bit busy but still chill

Café Organic

This is the outside area at Cafe Organic in Canggu, Bali

Café Organic is located right in the center of Batu Bolong and has everything you could need to get a bit of work done. Although it’s usually a bit loud in here, I still like to come every now and then to get some writing or editing done. They have really delicious organic food, plenty of power plugs (if you’re sitting at the seats by the wall) and upbeat music that will force you to stay awake (that’s a good thing haha).

AC: yes

Power plugs: Plenty when you’re sitting by the wall

Atmosphere: usually pretty busy/kinda loud

Ximmor

The view from my favorite seat at Ximmor in Canggu, Bali

Ximmor is pretty new in town but has attracted a big crowd of remote workers which is why they “ask” you to spend 50k (about 3€) per hour on food or drinks. Although this has made the crowds that come here shrink, I still love coming here because it’s not only comfortable and the staff is really nice but they also have really delicious juices, food, and coffee. The Wi-Fi has also gotten better since it’s not always so crowded which makes it a perfect place to get some work done.

AC: yes

Power plugs: At almost every seat

Atmosphere: usually quiet

Berawa

Duatiga

Duatiga has not only some amazing (Vietnamese) food but is also one of the best spots in Canggu to get some work done. They have an AC area downstairs but I honestly prefer the upstairs area because there’s always the right amount of people to stay productive, the breeze is amazing, the chairs are comfortable and the food and coffee is on point. If you’re lucky, you might also come here when there’s a golden retriever hanging out and keeping everyone’s spirit high.

AC: downstairs yes

Power plugs: At almost every seat

Atmosphere: usually quiet

Cinta café

Cinta Café has long been on the list of cafes to work in Bali and rightly so. It’s located on one of the main roads in Berawa, but once you’re in here, it seems like you entered a different world because you get to overlook the rice fields and it’s super quiet here. There are plenty of power plugs and the food is great. It does get pretty busy here though which is why I have come less often. The wifi is really stable

AC: no

Power plugs: Plenty

Atmosphere: the music can sometimes be too loud

Alright, this is a pretty good overview of most of the places I really enjoy spending time at. There are obviously others like the cafe area at Alternative beach (don’t come here for work on a Wednesday or Saturday because it’s too loud), the Greenhouse, Amo Spa or Draper startup cafe (which is a bit further away but perfect if you want to be super productive but also meet awesome people and spend some time in an amazing garden during your breaks).
